Don't think This one will be ready in time  :o
So here is the final image. This is S.T.A.C.I. Your holographic assistant who will help you along the way.

She is just about to explain the secret room you have just found and maybe a link to the past...

OK, here's my entry!  ;D

It's been fun to create, graphics were a struggle: I had to learn how to use blender to create a decent player ship. How Andrew did that on the C64 I have no idea!!!

Game from the 80's it's based on  "LodeRunner"

Windows 10 (other ??)
Memory (RAM): 4 Gb
Screen Resolution: 1280x720
Free disk space: 36 Mb

Required dependancies ----
Brief info about your game:
As a child, I loved playing LodeRunner, so I decided to choose this game and make it my version.
For some reason, our hero decided to fly away from the space base. But the guards are chasing him.
He needs to get to the spaceship. To open the exit to another level of the base, you need to collect all the pieces of precious metal.
I wanted to make 20 levels, but I realized that I didn't have time and reduced it to 10.
However, if you can reach level 10 and pass it, then you will see a small cartoon - a spaceship takes off enchantingly and flies into space :)

Any screen shots or video's
Media information:
Graphics are partly mine.
The main character and the guards were made in the "Spriter Pro" program
Other robots and different tiles were drawn by myself and a friend of mine.

Great stuff. Was hoping we'd get an entry or two under the radar.

This is my competition entry.

Game name: Alien Invaders
Based on: Space Invaders
Link to download: http://www.retrocomputerstuff.com/Alien%20Invaders.zip
Requires any Windows OS with 4G RAM or more
Short YouTube video: https://youtu.be/RmIEUveRA9A
This game is fairly easy at first but has several levels that get harder each increase. There is a lot going on as bullets are being shot at you, aliens are chasing you from the sides, and aliens keep going faster each time they reverse directions. Digital sound can be turned on or off from the main menu as well as the sound profiles can be changed from male to female. It was written entirely in GFA Basic 32 with no additional add-ons such as sprites or any special graphics or audio enhancers.

Enjoy!

Ack! I'm out :'(  Just finished the coding I had to do for this morning. It's gone 4am and my brain is fed up with key tapping so I don't even want to look at something else. Not sure if I'll get much spare time during the week but if I can secretly squeeze the game in before voting I'll definitely do so unless a baying crowd says no no no. As said I can't affect the winners or the prize fund. My entries are just to make up the numbers ;D

Here's a screen shot so you can get an idea of what the game looks like ( excuse the debug number on the middle left ) :

OK folks, comp is now closed! Bug fix week begins so get reporting and squishing them pesky things.

Game comp voting will take place from Monday 11th December until Sunday 17th December 2023 @ 23:59:59 GMT. A dedicated thread will be in place ready for voting time.

Until the next time.

Put the game out there as soon as possible, Qube. Like you said, it doesn't affect any of the judging, so no harm in it. And we seem to lose out on too many competition games that are made for these competitions because they run out of time and just get abandoned, if there's no reason to encourage people to finish them. I've got at least five that I never returned to because I ran out of time...

That's a shame Qube, it looks great. Definitely spend some time on this after the comp, I'm sure we'll all love to see it.

Ramen to that ... Could always drop it in as a belated syntaxbomb forum Christmas present.

Anyone given Gridrunner a blast yet? Any bugs spotted, or anything not working right? Only a few days until bug fixes are over and I can't believe that I've released the game without any issues at all. I'd be impressed if I had :)

In the meantime, here's a video of me playing up to level 9 on the final version. This is the last level before the snitch enters the game and changes how you will need to play rather quickly.
