An idea has been floated by a couple of members on doing a trip to the Retro Man Cave / Arcade in Chalford / England.

As Steve Elliott put it "If you fancy a visit to a museum full of working retro computers, books, magazines and other tech with a fully working arcade full of arcade machines from back in the day in a picturesque old mill then lets see if we can put a few faces to names and have a good time!"

Would be great if we could gather a nice little group of us to meet up and have a bit of fun.

Obviously I'm interested as I've been meaning to visit for some time, and then a couple of members were discussing a meet-up. It seems like the perfect opportunity, with maybe a few beers and a curry after!  :D

Yes im in ;D

Cant wait to talk to like minded people about Retro computers from back in the day! And an arcade thrown in! ???

Scramble and space firebird was my favorite.

Being able to talk about old retro computers! without the bail of hay running through the room will be COOL! 8)

At the end of the day. It would be nice to meet other like minded people with similar interest's and meet people from behind there keyboards! :)

Kind Regards Baggey

Added a list of members interested to the first post so we can see how many may be coming and go from there.

I'm happy to add to my carbon footprint and fly over ;D Probably be a fly over early in the morning and fly back the next morning collapsing in a hotel for a night.

As a long-time follower/Patron of RMC Retro, if you happen to be there on a day when they have a guest and they film it for YouTube, I'll wave enthusiastically in lieu of the epic commute.   :)

sounds good, Scramble was a classic! Its about 3 hours from my haunt, it'd be weekend dependent though.

Think i'll add my name to the list then.

I've been watching lots of Neil's video's over the last couple of years - especially the building of the cave series he did. If we get the timing right for one of his developer talks then even better.

It turns out that I'm only a couple of hours drive away and can zip up the M5 for most of the trip, so that's a huge bonus.

I'm only restricted on dates where it's during the week as the missus works in London for a few days one week in every two, so I'd have to be here for the pets. If we have a date nominated then I can work it out. If there's curry and a few beers involved then I'm up for grabbing a hotel room and heading off in the morning, if others do.

Awesome.

Me too, he's worked so hard and it shows in the quality of the Cave, and then bringing in extra people and even a fully working arcade downstairs! Developer talks would be interesting but on the other hand that would take away time from our ability to check out RMC properly, so I'm kinda changing my mind on that one.

So not to far away then!

Yes the date is the only real sticking point I feel, but I'm sure we can all agree on a date (at least most of us can make). Definitely, a curry and a few beers later and then crashing at the nearest hotel/b&b/campsite. I'm certainly not driving back the same day!  :D

I guess a Saturday would be the most accommodating for those who work during the week? Those staying overnight then hit the exceptional Sunday travel timetable :-X

Weekend dates would work well for me, I suspect, but i'll try and accommodate wherever the majority lies. I've got beers for you, Steve and 3DZ behind the bar, if we can get this going though, for sure, Qube. If you're coming over from Ireland then maybe see if you can get a flight into Exeter. You've got a lift available if so then.

Actually, I'm Honiton, but I spend quite a few days in Sidmouth every year, as it's only 9 miles up the road. Love the place.
