So he managed to get the Amstrad moniker back from Sky. And then his grandson will be doing digital marketing.

all they have to do, is to remake the 80s computers, BUT avoid the cheap low quality options. we are all still here who bought there stuff in the 80s, all the games could rerelease. it could be fun, but im sure they will be advised to use light weight cheap stuff by people that just look at speadsheets and dont know what games like elite was.

To all. You have more chance of winning the lottery jackpot whilst being actually dead for 200 years, than Amstrad catering to what is a effectively niche market.
So don't go building your hopes up that his grandson is going to recreate retro hardware. It would cost him too much to buy back all the rights and trademarks and ROM code. And I can guarantee that at some point if he does, there will be new licence restrictions on the use of the ROM code and any naming.

i disagree, all the people who bought CPC in the 80s are still alive and would likely buy a new one, plus amstrad may still own the ROMs else what good is the brand .

I think a really good emulator, like a real good looking CPC on the screen, and being able to buy games that load in, would be cool and cheap for them to do. emulators are great but Im talking big budget that has the computer on screen and looks like your using the hardware aswell as the emulator. they could ask baggey to help.

Yes there are and I'm one of them. But I very much doubt that they will cater to a minority market where they mite buy a retro computer. All Sugar has done it to buy back the Amstrad name for his grandson to use. All the rest belongs to Sky. Amstrad (aka Alan Micheal Sugar Trading) is a well known brand name that has existed well before the home computer market ever existed.

Maybe misinterpreting your description, but doesn't Retro Virtual Machine already make it look pretty on screen with peripherals etc?
Or do you mean emulated in hardware like a FPGA?

I also want an official emulator, so there is no malware, that would be worth buying, I think you could make it better with cash to dev it, not saying its not good now, just would like to see what a budget does to it. I would also like to buy games for it, and this would drive devs to dev for it. if they did this right sugars grandson could make more money than Lord sugar. I would def go the emulator rout for production costs, they could even sell shells that go over your PC to look like old computers.
