I was kinda been attacked for last time i said that but ill say that again..
if we had a like button here for comments it would save responses .. like thanking .. and show acknowledgment for the response.
it is not childish and it serves a purpose ..

i find myself many times only reply with Thank you xxx ..  instead of just acknowledging i have read what you just posted..
other coding sites has this btw

If anyone doesnt like my opinion , he can keep on moving.

I agree with Hardcoal.  Also, sometimes I just want to acknowledge I like what somebody has produced.  If I want to critique then I'd post a more verbose answer rather than simply clicking on a like - which means in this instance good stuff, keep doing what you're doing.

Gfk . its more than that..
no its not hard to say thank you..

but what if you read something in the middle of an old topic.. do you have to reply with a Thank you in the end?
Isnt it just easier to acknowledge that you've read this and it helped you?
This sometimes acknowledge people that their work is valued without posting thank you, on an 200 days old post. and make people go to see what was posted
on this old topic just to see it was a "Thank you" reply lol

Anyway.. I know a "Like" is registered as to more Social cheap platforms than coding forums but it can be called "Valued" :p

If it's easy for Qube to add then I say add a like feature.  But what could be an easier solution perhaps is just add more emoticons - with thumbs up and so on.  Sometimes I just use the  8) but more expressive emoticons could work.

Maybe make it less obtrusive ... check how others design such stuff ... align it to the right or so (similar to insert quote, report to moderator ...). Give it a little thumbs up icon and a "Like" text next to it ...

Your game can wait ... the like element is top priority!!!!11!!eleven!

Dunno where to put the to "x persons liked this" - but if someone liked a post, then it is ok to display it properly. The obtrusive Like-"button" is not visually pleasing - below every post even if it just contains a smiley or one-liner.

While we are at if, why not add a dislike, hate it, you're nuts, I think this is crap, get stuffed, I want turkey buttons too?  8)

Instead of "like" you could just "rate" a posting - information exchanges did it (years ago).  So you could have stuff like "bla users found this information useful".
And if something was rated negative for x times, it would not be presented by default but "minimized" (eg if it contained some slightly offending content).

Yes, this. I want a dislike button as well. Mainly so I can use it for all of hardcoals posts when he's bleating about something pointless.
