So my fellow super SyntaxBomb coders, who's up for our 15th game comp?. This one will have a £100 each for the top three winners.
Mac Studio M1 Max ( 10 core CPU - 24 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD,
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 32G DDR5 RAM 1T PCIe 4.0 SSD
MSI MEG 342C 34" QD-OLED Monitor

Until the next time.

Count me in!, I've been looking for something to take a break with from my current project. :)

I'm a definite maybe..... Just started learning Java...... Not committing to doing it in that though, I've a job finishing stuff with languages I've a ruff handle on. 1 Dec 22 end-ex too far away? As Mrs Doyle would say.... Go on, Go on, Go on. (Father Ted).

A cup of tea Father?

Now..... what's the theme going to be for No. 15

[ edit]..... How about anythings 'game', but it needs 15 levels of complexity?

It's a thing that doe's when it don't..

Interested, but my record of completion is atrocious, so I can't see it swaying the decision!

I like "15 of something" as a theme - very open! Could be 15 colours (plus black?), 15 levels, 15 characters, a 15 minute (second?) deadline to complete...

Should be up for that. A Ludam Dare style, random, last min theme would be good.

Ohhh, I like this twist - it adds weight to 'the 15 days of Christmas Compo', helping me to finish something with a nice deadline which is far enough off to allow plenty of peeps to join in & might give me a chance to finish something without rushing for the deadline - which always seems like yesterday ;)

15 colours would be easier to achieve than 15 levels  8)

Ludum Dare Style?  Ah:

QuoteThemes are suggested and chosen by the community. Theme Suggestions are accepted starting 5 weeks before the event. Theme Voting kicks off 2 weeks before the event.

So.... how abouts we have theme suggestions rolling in until the 30 Sep then on the 1 Oct the horses are let loose and we've until Christmas Eve to pop out a compo entry?  Or maybe even New Years Eve...... tiz the season to be jolly, or code!

15 days would probably be a little short, but Christmas is 3 months!

Have we had any competitions that require a specific style, like a platformer, or an isometric game?

How about 15 themes - all the previous ones plus one that up for further discussion, or is that a little too wide open?

I agree, a whole 3 months is a little long, So....... How about a compromise and we make it say...... the 20 Dec - leaving us a whole shopping week before the festive break?  Then a cheeky 10 day bug fix period to permit compo winners celebrations on New Yeas Eve, or New Years day - start 2023 with a Bang on Syntax Bomb.  8)

As cool as it is, how would it be judged? aside from graphics and sound.

Yeah, 15 themes would be pushing it slightly, might result in more entrants, and folks couple maybe judge it on gameplay, Gamification, sound & graphics within the theme chosen.....

Comparing an adventure game to a shooter would be problematic though. 15 levels?

A 15th anniversary is a crystal anniversary, so how about a crystal themed comp?

Seems like a Crystal Clear option to me....
