SyntaxBomb - Indie Coders

I have started using Blitz Plus again after 9 years of no BRL products.  I lost the majority of my backups when my wife died and I had to move and greatly downsize.

I am SO missing the registered version of Brain Editor Pro which was the IDE I always used with B+/B3D.  For me, nothing came close.  Given that it was a registered product, it is not freely downloaded anywhere.  I used it with that lovely blue scheme shown in the one screenshot.

Does anybody have any suggestions for non-.NET based third-party IDEs for B+?  Or any off the shelf ones that have a keyword list for Blitz?

I use IDEal for Blitz3D, not sure if it extends to BlitzPlus. I also used to use Protean a while back, hopefully either of those might work?

Thank you, that looks ideal (no pun intended).  I never looked at any of the other offerings.  I was so used to Brain Editor from the 3D Rad days, I just bought that for Blitz and never looked back.

Yes, please could you provide a link for the patch?  I, too am glad to see so many still using the languages on the various forums.

Other than the DPI issues with B+ IDE (easily remedied), it works wonderfully on Windows 10.

IDEal is sweet!  Simple DPI tweak and looking gorgeous!

Quick question... The DirectInput DLL is NOT an issue with B+ made games on Windows 10 or 11?  Or do I still need to worry about that?

i think some dlls need to be installed but i am unsure i mean referring to like directplay features. the app i use thats b3d/plus seems to run, i dont know it uses any directplay features i dont think it does. at some point during or after execution windows will ask app compatibility to fix/install directplay but i dont know if it works.

I believe BlitzPlus uses DirectPlay just like Blitz3D.
When running a B3D app for the first time on Win10 it will come up with an error message saying it will need to download software off the internet. It will download dplayx.dll and the B3D app will crash and need to be restarted.
I just add the dplayx.dll to the same folder as my executable to avoid this.
I believe you own my game Dungeons of Mysteria on Itch.io swampie so you could just copy and paste the dll from there assuming you dont already have it.
