Haven't tried it yet, but Sonic has been ported to the C64. https://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78945&start=0
Problem is you wouldn't be able to play this game on a real C64/C128. It requires at least a 256K Commodore REU.

II still tinker about with coding on one even now, from time to time. Got a half finished game on the back burner that I've got to optimise a lot to try and fit in unexpanded memory. Now that's a challenge.

Happy Coding cant wait to see it!

You can already see it. Look for the TRSE thread and I've got a couple of video's in there of Space Splat in action.

The Commodore REUs work fine on real Commodore 64s, so I don;t see why it wouldn't work.

I think you missed the point. How often do you see Commodore REU's or their clones for sale? Even then, some of the clones require parts from an original REU. And when they do come up for sale, they can cost an arm and a leg. So unless you are one of the lucky few to own a REU, You're not going to be able to play it on real C64/C128 without one.

The only ram expansion as far as I know that's still being offered is a clone of the geoRam currently being produced by GGLabs and that require geo OS.

I wrote my own version of Boulderdash a few years ago for Windows/Mac. Go have a play on mine, when you have the time, and see what you think of that. It uses the same maps as the original game.

Without question or any hesitation - my favorite c64 game was Lode Runner. :)

Ladders, hang ropes, destructible environment..   I mean come on - just how advanced was this game you had to type in out of a magazine to play.

Wow! You kept the original graphics. It looks great. I'm definitely gonna try it.  :)

Only game I can remember is Lawnmower Man. I'm not convinced it was the inspiration for a film of the same name a few decades later.....jeez, the game/film was only a year or so apart.... Well I never.
