My new gwbasic text game is called "Loserville." it's a three-game (three chapters) that should be ready in a few days/week - it uses a few screen 8 EGA images. The game's story is a journey in three parts, inspired by my life (kind of) and new-age spirituality... the game starts with you, the player Roy, a 40-year-old, a Mentally ill person, and a hobby programmer. A person you might consider (maybe) a Loser, but still, Roy is trying his best to program games as a hobby, even if his online friends abuse him badly. He is alone, and it seems nobody cares about him and the games. He still pushes on until somehow he is hacked and his bank account is stolen. He gets into debt and loses his income social security - then you enter the second chapter of the story - being a homeless person and needing to survive on the street with no hope of ever getting back on your feet and contemplating your previous life when you had food and a roof over your head - the homeless life continues until Roy dies on the streets - BUT then begins the third chapter - "welcome to the kingdom of heaven" where Roy is in a free from pain suffering and hardship needs to contemplate the mistakes he made in his life and judge himself and decide if to stay in heaven or go down for another chance...

My question is - with the limitation of gwbasic + only text + some chat simulations - would anyone ever want to play such a game?

All text files are in DAT format extension, and I might give GWBASIC with it or compile the source file into 16-bit executables with Bascom or qbx 7.1

The game is MS-Dos meant to run in DosBox or DosBx-x.

What do you think about this?

plus once finish where and how do i distribute it? Should i just upload it to archive.org? itch.io? Attach to a forum post?

I wonder, does your game work on PC-Basic too?

If it does, you might be able to embed the interpreter with it, if the license (GPL) is fine with you

I'd maybe consider changing your title from 'Loserville' to 'Creatorville'.  Creating software as a hobby coder is an art form, however well received it is (or not). After all - if you're getting to Heaven, thats where the 'Creator' comes into play.

Good luck with your project!
