Virux - Game entry competion
« on: February 28, 2021, 11:04:45 »
12th Code a Game Competition "Virus" entry.

A deadly virus has escaped from a Chinese marketplace and caused a worldwide pandemic. Your country is in quarantine and has legally enforced a limited curfew called "The Lockdown".
How long can you evade the virus and the Lockdown marshals?

(If it hadn't happened you would think the above was just a storyline)

MEDIA:
- Graphics: Drawn by me.
- Fonts: Drawn by me.
- Maps: Created by me (by hand)
- Sound effects: Created in SFXR on Android, saved as WAV fiels and imported.

I am coding this in Blitzmax NG on Linux Mint.

The structure of the game is complete and the game is playable.

There are three types of Enemy, but I have only implemented two of them so far: The Virus and the Lockdown Warden.

This morning I have added "Chaser" AI and got the Level architect (which controls the map, tiles and entities etc.) working properly.

(The eyeball used for the player is not going to be the final image  ;D )

He he.. Not yet!

Today I have added the final Enemy including his logic/AI and drawn the images for animating him...

"game paused" compared to the background sign ... looks quite different.

the guy - when zoomed - reminded me on my youngest today ... "no, I do not need to go to the toilet" :) ... seriously: looks nice!

bye

Thanks; its nearly how I imagined it would be.

"game paused" compared to the background sign ... looks quite different.
All of the support screens now have the same look-and-feel, whether it be the Lobby, High Score, Game Paused, Game Over etc. It made the whole game structure come together really nicely.

the guy - when zoomed - reminded me on my youngest today ... "no, I do not need to go to the toilet" :) ... seriously: looks nice!

Oh dear; maybe I should get this in there quickly. he he

The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious.
No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.
No animals, bacteria or viruses were harmed in the making of this game.
