This showcases the beginnings of my platform game being made in GameMaker Studio 2.3. As you can see from the gif, I'm slowly coding the basic game mechanics. So far, I have 2 way platform jump (up/down).

The aim of the game will be to turn red tiled grass into green tiled grass while dodging enemies and obstacles.

It's progressing nicely. The two way jump mechanics were a bit of a pain to get working correctly but in the end it worked out quite nice.

I'll keep this worklog updated with my progress,

Thanks, blinkok.

I'm adding a few props now and powerups. After that it's enemy state machine coding. That's going to be fun to code.

Looking cool!  8)

GameMaker is looking better and better these days with a more OO approach.

A friend of mine and I did a game with a similar "paint" mechanic a while back. I liked the paint particles he came up with.

Thanks, therevills. Yep, for 2d, GameMaker is a powerhouse tool to use. Once you learn the GameMaker way of going things, it becomes addictive and fun.

I've not tried it and have no interest in it, but a bit more OOP than AGK would be good, just not as much as C++.

Hey, Steve. Thanks. I've made a lot of progress today and will update this thread in the morning.

Also, I meant that hey. :)

I always have,  and continue to give positive feedback to projects here, and where appropriate some things that I feel could improve the project, Adam too.
