I wonder if blitzmaxNG could be programmed to do this? 8)

Running a PC that just Aint fast enough!? i7 4Ghz Quad core 24GB ram 1TB SSD and NVIDIA Quadro K1200 . DID Technology stop! Or have we been assimulated!

Do you mean the "audio app" or a kind of "digital launchpad" (so digital buttons you press and some keyboard/midi-in or virtual) ?

If so I guess this is possible but yeah, you should possibly use a touch-device for proper "emulation" ... so either a Windows Surface-like thing (if you want to use BlitzMax/Windows) or some old touch-laptop (should be cheap too).
Mouse or keyboard of course works too but is not "the same" then.

I think i mean the audio app with an on screen virtual keyboard etc.. Where you press the keys like the player is. :-X

1.
A on-screen keyboard is not a problem. Problematic is to play with fingers on screen  in the exactness a musician needs.

2.
Recording is easy. Playback is easy. But for exactness in recording while playback (=MULTITRACK) you need an audio module like MINIAUDIO with low latency

3.
Sounds are possible. It needs to be a combination of samples and Synthesizer. For both you have examples in Midimaster's tutorials. Have a look on

tutorial:

worklog:
https://www.syntaxbomb.com/worklogs/synthesizer-class/
(which I still can convert into a tutorial)

It needs some time. The best idea is to start with a sample player with only pads, f.e. a drum machine. Then expand it to a synthi with keys, the add recording and playback. the add MIDI-IN for better input devices., etc...

so it grows with the years...

I would love to see this turned into a tutorial. :D

Im no musician so i wouldn't even begin to comprehend the exactness a musician needs. But looking at my QWERTY keyboard i have ten keys on the QWERTY row and 9 on the ASDFG row. So id use the QWERTY keys as the white keys and ASDFG as the Black keys. In a simplistic world ::)

I would love to see this turned into a tutorial producing a simple player. With the a keyboard layout, like i suggested above. Id love to learn the principles off getting such a simple synthesizer programmed.
Which i can add to and build on :D

Kind Regards Baggey

Perhaps off-topic, but since it's a thread titled "Yazoo" in a subforum about Sound & Music on a site full of people who enjoy 8-bit computers, I'll allow it.  ;)
