Android update open test feedback
« on: June 19, 2021, 03:16:58 »
According to "Hijabi Sisters"

"Its the worst app it have so many errors and the functions donot run so l admire not to install it.l will give it no star??"

Seems a little harsh. Out of all the 1000000's of apps being the very worst seems like an achievement.

Anyway... there is another open test version with some changes.

It would be good to get any feedback before I hit "publish".

"Hijabi Sisters"
I first met SmallBASIC on Palm Pilot m100, those "Sisters" probably were not born then yet, and never heard of it...

It is an advertisement. From such people every opinion should be inverted!

Just publish it! At least I believe you did it right!
My "detected" inconsistencies were always propery healed!

Another advertisement was that M$ "stole" a part of SB users.
But people who know the real qualities of SmallBASIC, specially the elegance of dynamic arrays would never leave it.
And, remember, SmallBASIC is NOT for beginners!

I used in my program (similar to Columns on the Mega Drive) image.draw() instead of image.show(). It works very well. Good think is, that it is now possible to draw i.e. a line or text on top of this image.
One small issue:
Code: [Select]
A = image(0,0,64,64)
A.draw(100,100)
will show nothing on the screen in my case. I have to define opacity to see the image:
Code: [Select]
A.draw(100,100,0)

A bigger problem with the new version is, that I don't see anymore any sub-folders located inside Android/data/net.sourceforge.smallbasic/files/. I checked on my tabled and on my mobile phone. Would be great, if you can fix this.

You handle the development of SmallBASIC very carefully. Good job.

If still open for suggestions:
have nothing against those c-style Ctrl-codes, but could you make them active only OUTSIDE the quoted text?

sth like this:

Code: [Select]
? "a RTF header part \nxxx\cell\farial shold remain so,"+\n+"but this should go to new line"
should give:

a RTF header part \nxxx\cell\farial shold remain so,
but this should go to new line

Thanks for your kind attention!
Cheers!

PS.
It is not an issue on my devices ( a simple replace all "\" with "\\"), but maybe my program runs on someone's else...

PPS.
Is it so important to move a BASIC towards C ?!?!?!
