My comp entry :

Huh! there seems to be a bug with the rendering on other systems. Luckily there is another week to fix this bug ;D

very nice, clean graphics.

i love such glow effect (its is difficult to produce pixels precise glow in Blitz3d...)

Still working on the render bug *cough*

However I did manage to fix the auto aiming car mounted turret which now rotates and elevates smoothly to it's target \o/ - Gotta say that the firing at UFO's looks feckin awesome :))

Progressing great and it'll be my first 3D game where I've done all the 3D models and built a whole map to freely zoom around. Lots of mistakes made and equally lots learned too.

Back to the *bug* fixing and if I can't sort everything out for the end of bug fixing week I'm definitely going to finish off this game and add more to it.

can you explain what it is ?

i have a code example (bb) for automatic adjustment of aiming to always reach a moving target, if you want...

There isn't a render bug. I'm just using that as an excuse to hopefully finish my game before bug fix week is over. If not then I won't be able to enter it into the comp.

Also as I can't affect the comp winners then no harm :)

Code example - Would be interesting to see how you did it. I'm just glad my turret moves smoothly towards the target and the turret gun elevates to the correct angle.

Haha, sneaky.  ;D  But like you said you can't affect the comp winners, so no harm done...I said previously, I wouldn't mind if all competitors chose to either have extra time on their entry (and possibly risk a fatal bug) or get in on time and have some bug testing by the Community.

Unfortunately still couldn't find the free time to finish my entry off :(

I'm definitely going to finish it off though and post here when it's done just in case anyone is interested in giving it a whirl.

Aw a shame, but just complete later when you do have the time to do the visuals justice with some equally impressive gameplay.  Looking forward to playing.   :)

As I didn't make the comp deadline and who the fooook knows when I'll finish this game I thought I'd whip up a quick video just so you can see I was / am working on an actual game :))

Took a very long time to get the atmosphere right. Not to everyones tastes but I wanted a certain look to it. All the super duper modelling and map making is done by me with simple low polygon models. Still learning Cheetah3D on and off after buying it years ago. Love Cheetah3D so much it's worth buying a Mac for alone ;D

As for Unity... Still in a like / hate relationship with it but edging towards liking it more and more as I slowly learn the ropes. Been pretty impressed how easy it is to model your own stuff and import into Unity with minimal fuss.

Anyway, here's a quick zippy 1080p 60fps video. Best to make sure it's set for that for best visuals of course  :))

Derron

Most apparent thing: the inside of the car is leaking the front light - or is even nonexisting.

Finish it - looks smooth and pleasing elsewise (not sure how it looks if too many "effects" are on the screen though).

bye
