paint & Draw bundle is on its last day at humblebundle, I know you have everything but this is still a nice price for watercolouring

excellent ;)

I have got a paint system...

I wonder where I got the UI from?

Maybe I should take all the bits and make a quick and dirty paint program?

Had a quick play on Geoswitch and after the first play on Windows the instructions (well description of the objects) didn't ever re-appear so it wasn't clear what the hell I was supposed to do!  Adam you really should put instructions in your games, not on a website or readme file - but in-game.  Not just this game, but all your games.  You may know the game inside and out, but new players will not.

Also I do hate games that run in a window rather than proper fullscreen.  Games should be immersive IMO and not show window bars as if it's some application like an art package or text editor.  I know you can maximize the window, but you still get bog standard OS Title Bar.

The moaning out of the way, technically it's very nice and I love the aesthetic.   8)

yup - I'll take that right on the chin ;)

Remember that this was created in only 5 days - so a lot of things didn't make it - windows fullscreen being one of them - plus info, etc.

I still consider myself to be learning how to make games, so I will take all thoughts/criticism, etc and think hard on the details.

And I do know that my games have a tendency to be overcomplicated - hence trying to go back to the basics and really find out what makes games tick... I am always attempting to reach out to devs whose game skill are great but whose graphics/sound skill aren't so great.. so if anyone is up for a challenge...

lol good man, there was some positive comments there too, and if I can see some good gameplay after I figure out what I need to do possibly a few more.  I don't get much free time so I need to quickly pick up exactly what the goal is, give it a play, and if I enjoy the gameplay put some time aside to play some more.

So instructions are even more of a necessity.   ;D

Oh I know, respect for producing something so impressive in the time.  Comps here are longer though, and even then it's usually a chore to see what the hell I need to do each Adam game.

Personally I see you as a talented coder who has a million ideas, then hits the keyboard.  You know you can knock out code quickly, so I would suggest spending much longer on planning the gameplay.  How the game progresses by easing the player into the core game mechanics before introducing difficulty.  Always think of your game being played by somebody who has never seen it before - especially if your gameplay varies from 'established game mechanics'.

cant disagree with any of that :)

On the leg front (missus). It's not quite a simple as it first looks:

- You need to track when a key is pressed and what state you are in:
standing, turning, walking, etc

-You then decide which keyframe to go from and which to go to and lerp between them

- When you change state, the keyframes may be completely different so you need to track what you should be going to...

But... All that said I've now got something that sort of has a bit of life in it. I tried altering the max speed and got legs that stumble around (zombie), walk and trot... so must be onto something with this \o/
