I'm not sure i'm 100% on the textured 3D and Vector at the same time. In any case, as i have said, It is unquestionably awesome

Adam's kindly let me have a play of this and it's fucking awesome. Feels like a complete game already. Seems a shame that you'll probably have to give it away to stop Atari giving you shit about using their game because it plays just as well. Actually better because you have the three modes.

Well done, Adam. Get it out there :)

How did you find each 'mode'

How did you find each 'mode'

I found prototype less painful on my firing finger. More bullets? I cold hold fire down and not have to tap strategically like I did in arcade mode. I think possibly VCS mode worked the best for me with the visual backdrops making levels even more interesting. Tempest has always been a great game but I've never been very good at it.

If I had one minor gripe it would probably be with the controls. Player moves a bit too quickly to line him up with the ship he's trying to shoot sometimes, and this can make the trip to the edge of the level before it ends, where you need to avoid spikes , harder than it needs to be.

How do you turn these games out so quick?

the base prototype was actually written a few years back (I sat on it!), but I've now had reason to polish it up and make it into something more final. It's actually being used as a demo prototype to see how it fits within another companies line-up... We'll see on that front. Finger crossed
