This is really some top notch content. The in game editor also looks very nifty!

Regarding performance I assume you're making use of Render tweening?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes render tweening....but I need to re-visit my routine as I'm getting some laggy results because I have used basic commands to move about in the world (ie: moveX = moveX + 1) rather than a time multiplier etc.

My main issue is still a LOD system that increases my frame rate. It's ok at the moment but it still dips below the desired minimum *(25) more often than I want

This is fantastic looking work, great to see Blitz3D still being used to good effect. Fastlibs is a great library, I use it for GUI buttons in my little old project. Great looking editor too!

I think a good 2D engine, or a basic 3D Engine can create some wonderful games - if the creative mind behind it does just that - be creative.

Anyone knows what happened to this impressive looking Blitz3D project?

Just a quick update of sorts....because I was asked :)

 As for the current state of Bleak for B3d, I am trying to optimise the LOD system, rework some high-poly terrain objects so that that do not tax the FPS as much, add some local clutter around the vicinity of the player (more LOD stuff) as he or she moves...and expand the loot system.

The idea of Bleak is simple. I want it to the end up being the survival game that has the player traversing long distances in inhospitable conditions with only basic supplies that can be found along the way. Dune Island is only a testing ground for this premise. My objective is to apply a procedural terrain / biome system that offers a world that is generated on the fly and provides a totally unexplored and unique universe for the player.
