I have dabbled with Windowsfx_10 and 11, which is Linux based or Ubuntu.

However i think i am stuck in a rut with windows 10. It does what i want for now!

Sod the bloody updates from windows 10 and Microsoft's edge just keeps popping up like a "VIRUS" does

Microsoft's Edge Browser is something I don't use either, but it's pretty difficult to actually uninstall - it even re-installs itself.  So I would try to just ignore it and use your browser of choice.

As for updates you need them for the security of the system so it's unwise to stop updates.  What you could do is use an 'off-line' computer that never connects to the internet to ensure you don't have attacks to security vunerabilities.

Also, Microsoft has at least listened and you can now choose when you want to update.  You now have the option of shutting down/reset and update or simply shut down and update when it's more convenient.

Ive been thinking of that almost going with xerra. Ive seen these sata cards that switch hard drives in and out!

Ive also thought of a system where you press Windows 10, or mac OS, or Windows fx. and the correct boot drive is selected! But you'd need a common drive or media drive for your stuff maybe a RAID.

My multi-system is Windows/Linux on dual boot with 2 drives (this is important, do not ever put Windows and Linux on a single drive).  I can interrupt a boot and select if I go to Windows or Linux drives.  The Mac is a laptop (Macbook Pro).
