The problem I see with this that nobody wants to commit themselves to such a project long-term. And that would be needed. And then you will only a handful of people who gonna use it.

Xaron

Well yes, that explains it better.

How do you know how successful Cerberus X actually is. And please define success in that context.

Hi,
I could not express my thoughts well. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Does anyone know when going be release?

Naughty Alien

..it looks dead, as far as i can tell..nice idea bur probably will not see daylight..

markcwm

No, it's not dead, but Blitzmax Openb3d is.

There is a pre-release download for Windows just released on blitzcoder.org available from your profile page, but you need 20 posts to access the link, as Ron wants beta testers.

No, it's not dead, but Blitzmax Openb3d is.

If it works, it's not dead, it is complete.

Naughty Alien

..i went to blitzcoder, but cant remember my password...i may be missing it but i cant see any option where i can retrieve my password...and why this thing is not available on its own web site to download but on forum account instead, eh..

There are plenty still using Blitz3D (I think) and it is available on itch.io for download for free . I wrote my first PC game in it and it was a pleasure to use . I had no idea of the potential of that language when I did that . You can of course use it for 2d as well as 3d . I think for free it is an excellent language .

I just subscribed to the monthly Blast3D sub. Just waiting for RonTek to update my account. I will update you guys here once I've checked it out.

I talked with RonTek, he is still working on it, and making progresses.
Also, Blast 3D is not an improved version of Blitz 3d, it seems to be a completely different one, that is aimed to be compatible with Blitz, but doesn't share its code.

From what I gathered, the 3D features are achieved with OpenB3D, and the compiler is CBase, derived from Pyrite, that translates Basic to C.

I didn't know that. If it is similar to Blitz3D syntax wise and has a few bells and whistles that Blitz3D didn't ( shadows and shaders etc) then I will be very happy.

angros47

Well, for sure it will have shader features, stencil shadows, and particle system. It should also have stuff like metaballs, isosurfaces, 3d textures, geosphere terrains
