so Mark has just admitted that:
- the latest version (1.11) has broken pix maps
- version from 1.06 onwards have different key scanning - which doesn't work properly, so it is going to be recoded maybe with adding other commands to make it work
- mojo3d has 'burried' (read hidden) images that fake reflection and can't be turned off, and look horrible...
- mojo3d shadows probably don't work, especially in web mode
- from V1.07(ish) onwards gles replaced with opengl possibly breaking android and ios exports

I don't understand why people bother with Mark Sibly Languages anymore, the guy is totally unreliable.

..crystal ball was very clear when Max3D died..everything else is a legend..

Yep. Agreed. I think I'm sticking to V1.05 with my own custom stuff and ignoring everything else...

I only recently discovered that getting the latest development version working is not difficult at all. Just download the folder and unzip it to the binary version folder and rebuild modules. Getting the new emscripten sdk working also seems like it just needs unzipping in the devtools folder and rebuilding modules.

I also recently tried to get the free msvc  compiler working and this was easy as well. This one compiles a lot faster. It does not work with emscripten.

I decide and download Monkey 2 from itch.io
I can't say that is rubish..simply because is not ,so i try one scroller demo progie
hmmm when i open file and click run then ..i wait and wait ... ... ..
well i understand that is transpiler but take almost 3 min on my win7 computer to
complete all processing...
Resulting program as i expect run fast and smooth..that is good.
it looks to me good option to make indie games...
any resources for game demos written in m2?
(Y)

iWasAdam

easy answer is no there are no 'resources' but there are examples - wait for it... found in the 'bananas' folder <- just don't ask - lol

On the other hand. My suggestion to you would be to wait a couple of weeks for the next release of wonkey. that will have all sort of nice things in it including very detailed tutorials of game design covering all thing wonkey, including fontmaps, palettes, sprites, effects and more.

The tutorial will take you though make an entire game from scratch with lots of help and remarks throughout - currently at 13 stages. I know thins as I'm responsible for the tutorial \o/

First compile is always the longest - then it is quick a few seconds.
Wonkey is twice as fast as monkey2 and also with smaller executables. lots of work being done at the compiler level

I found some of examples on github and i am not impressed very much
probably because i am not very much interested in game programming in general .
In first i just want to try what is all that talks about this language .

On the other side code editor is very good ,respond very well
..i can say i like it   :D
even coloring sheme killing eyes..but that might be me  8)
i prefer lite theme.

yep the code editor for the code is very good - the themes (colors) are terrible. the new wonkey ide2 does away with the colors and stays with a much more professional feel - dark charcoal
