What happened to the code archives on the old BlitzBasic.com?
Has it migrated over to another spot?

It's locked but it looks like it's all there.

In a nutshell, Blitz3D-NG is an attempt for Blitz3D to breakaway from the DirectX7 legacy curse and enhance visuals with the upgrade to OpenGL and possibly other renderers like DX9 or DX11 (roadmap) using shaders and other modern gpu techniques. More info on repo description. kfprimm (author/maintainer) still plans to retain DX7 though as part of the renderer options.
I would really like to use blitz3d NG but could not find a way to download it from the above link. Is there somewhere else I can download it from. Thanks

I had app exe crashes on my last download and build, but I guess I could try this again and provide a clean release for download. The alpha versions (https://github.com/blitz3d-ng/blitz3d-ng/releases) is way too outdated to see most of the changes including new opengl renderer.
Afaik, this project is still experimental and unstable so it is still ideal to roll your own build.
Hello still can't work out how to download blitz3d NG. Github is strange.
Is there no longer a problem with audio?
I thought in the original Blitz3D there was a license for fmod that can't be included in free re-builds just like that for it's not free, or something changed in that regards?

Direct download link is here:
https://github.com/blitz3d-ng/blitz3d-ng/releases/download/v2.0.0-alpha.002/blitz3d_ng_v200-alpha.002.zip
Last update was months ago so it would be just better if you'll email Kevin (git profile) and probably ask for the latest binaries.

Yes Rick, the opensource version needs fmod licensing which can be obtained from fmod site.
Ok, I just downloaded Blitz3d NG today, and other than the tagline up at top there is no way to tell the difference between this incarnation of B3d and the previous DX7 version.
So, is there any website I can go to to find out if any of the instruction commands have been changed, added, deleted, etc.
How do I access the OpenGL features, or DX9 mode. etc.
I haven't tried Blitz3dNG yet but I'm curious if it behaves well with extensions like Fastlib?
This project does not add new features to how you code with Blitz3d, but attempts to add modern compatibility and the performance enchantments which come with Dx9, 64bit computing, and Opengl rendering.
Wasn't there another project like this that was attempting to extend the functions of Blitz3d? But the main programmer/project lead passed away? :(
Is this still being worked on?
Will there be a complete development roadmap for this software? (2018-2019)
Thank you.
I don't think the author is a member of this forum. I would try to contact him via Github and raise an issue there.
Yeah I was on Github and noticed it hasn't had a commit in over a year, that was why I asked. I hope the project isn't dead, I loved Blitz3D.
Try to contact him. Raise an issue there and tell him his userbase is waiting here :-)
:)
The last issue raised back in March went unanswered so the project may have been abandoned. It doesn't hurt to try I guess but don't get your hopes up.
Kevin posted a new build of NG on his discord yesterday that fixes the compiling an executable error and he also said he had made progress with OpenGL working on windows so thankfully Blitz3DNG is not dead just going a little slowly I guess
Yes, just recently the author worked on it again. It is a hobby project, but whenever he finds time and motivation, he does.
The windows DX7 version works fine. There is also an OSX and Linux version but I am not sure if they are working.
There is also a Discord channel for support: https://discord.gg/E6kTHXn (https://discord.gg/E6kTHXn)
I started using B3DNG ages ago but had to drop it when I couldn't compile exes. Now that hes fixed the exe problem Im well chuffed :D
He added a flag for disabling the bilinear texture filter for me(TextureFilter "",1024) so I don't need to use the plugin that crashes when running through steam. So now I can do a steam release if I want to.
For me Blitz3D does everything I need and compatibility is still really high so even just this small addition that NG adds is excellent for me
Hi my friends !
I am still a BLITZ 3D sex addict ;)
My last game (tribute to Ultima, Sundog & Elite), followed by Richard Garriott) :
https://www.gamopat-forum.com/t101951-cosmos-the-secret-melody-1-4-telechargement-gratuit#2922832
Sorry it is about 75% in english (I am French) but transaction progress
But now it is very old... but i don't want to use BLITZ MAX (more powerful but less sexy)
So I consider 3D NG......
3 questions :
1) .EXE is working now with BLITZ 3D NG ?
2) Where is the link to this version ?
3) Last question : is BLITZ 3D NG now manage the virtual resolution (like BLITZ MAX) ? It was a big missing with BLITZ 3D (for exemple to develo game in 320x200 pxl, or for zoom in real time)
Thanks !

I am bit surprised they have work on Blitz 3D NG but what does mean? Does it mean you have Better versions of Direct X such as Direct x 9?
I'm trying ot build blitz3d-ng and get the following errors.
