Well, decent day out in the garden... Other then they said on the local forecast I saw that there was going to be no rain today... And aye... It started raining!

Which is now rammed into my little workshop, the coal house and the old 6x4 garden shed... Honestly, it's a pig trying to get at anything... And now sorting out the garden, even to get the mower for my new lawn is a chew!

Lol, gardening gear and bits and bobs... I say bits and bobs. When I started doing the house up, I was buying gear, moving it from room to room as I was going, then when I was in the last room and finishing it off... I had this mountain of kit...

Man shed?...With some retro computer goodness, maybe an arcade machine or 2? 

I'm starting to build a new shed tomorrow, nice big chunk of 10x6 woodyness... For  the lawnmower! Coming home tonight I popped into toolstation for some stuff, so, hopefully, all I "may" need now is... Milk for me cuppa's! hehehe

I hate bank holidays. Cannot get anything done when the shops that sell the things I need are bloody shut.

Yes Nintedo have had some nice games. I must have spent all the money my parents were putting aside for me to give me a head start in life on Donkey Kong in the arcades when on holiday. DAM YOU NINTENDO!

Oi! Don't blame me lol  ...Nintendo produce some games with real good gameplay - it's not all about the graphics with them, plus there are lots of retro games for the system, and it's portable too...But do I basically want more of the same with prettier graphics at a major cost? Nope. And as for demanding 3rd party games I'd rather play on my much more powerful PC.

Bet it's the publisher hearing about you complaining at the price of that game. And decided to do a DOS attack.

At £75 for a game they can kindly do one What ever happened to rushing down to WHSmiths on a weekend and picking of a Mastertronic game for £1.99

Looks like I've bought my last game console (Switch OLED). I prefer computers anyway lol 

I thought I'd definitely upgrade, now I'm not so sure.

The games are looking expensive though.

It's a 120 FPS HDR Screen though.

Once you go OLED the backlight on IPS drives you mad on darker scenes 

The Switch 2 ain't cheap I'll play "If it's a hit and there's cool games then wait for the OLED version"

Yep the BBC Micro and the Atari 800 had the best keyboards in the 1980's...But the the Atari came out in November1979 - so wins on being earlier lol.

Now if we are talking 1980s tech. The the best keyboard would be the Acorn BBC and Electron.

The best keyboard I ever had, was an Acer USB backlit membrane. Only cost £10. And I buggered it up by accidentally spilling a bit of tea on it. I was guttered. I think the next purchase will be a Logitech M3 mouse. The keyboard came with a USB bolt, so may as well get a mouse.

I cant get on with the modern mechanical keyboards. So i stuck with my Tecknet. Mini Usb. And yes there's a small thing going on! 

Hmm I might get a wireless (mechanical) Bluetooth  keyboard to save a USB 3 slot.

Well the package I ordered has finally arrived. Just got to get used to using my new Logitech wireless MX mechanical keyboard.

Some people have all the look. Bagging 2 Atari 1040 STFM's. Whatever you do. Don't power them up until you've checked, or bought an new PSU and had it recapped. And be careful. Some may have been fitted with a real time clock. Leaky battery syndrome.

As you all know im in to my Retro computers. Ive clearing the loft of my garage where the previous owner left a load of junk!    I cant believe it ive found 2 x Atari 1040 ST fm's 

Amazon are getting terrible now mind I know, from sports gear, electrical and even DIY stuff like glues and other chemicals. But what do they do about it? Nowt!!!

I have too, even as the poor seller, so I do understand it's a complete pisser, but there is such a thing as customer service, politeness costs nothing, and well, if you sign up for using online "stores" which have these sort of buyer guarantees, then you've just got to take it on the chin. But you come across some right bellends when it does happen, and there is no need because it get's them, well, nowhere in the end.

@Dabz . Now I see. It definitely was down to the seller with them offering a click and collect. I've never liked getting anything of of ebay, as you can easily get ripped off. The same goes for Amazon with them opening up their services to third parties. Been stung a couple of times with both ebay and Amazon.

As it stood, the seller offered the "click and collect" service, and as such, if it doesn't reach the destination, which in this case... Argos (Regardless if it is located in the same store), it simply hasnt reached it, that is down to the couriers mistake, which again, the seller selects the courier, as a buyer, it is all beyond my control, and finally, there is the eBay guarantee, which a seller is under the obligation to, well, oblige to... All in all, the seller just had to take it on the chin the reins of the issue were in their hands, and they didnt want to know, up until the point obviously that I had to get eBay to actually step in.

@Baggey If you deal with retro computers. You have this problem all the time. Once ordered some ZX Spectrum male power jacks from what was supposed to be a reputable dealer of retro computer items. They sent out some jack alright, but they certainly were not suitable for a ZX Spectrum. It would have cost me more to send them back to get the money that I paid for them. The push for companies and banks to everything online, especially via mobile apps is a scammers and fraudsters dream come true.

@Dabz. This may sound a bit harsh. But the seller was under no obligation to send you a replacement unless you had some kind of insurance. As there is a third party involved i.e. Argos/Sainsbury's then the responsibility would be yours to deal with, especially if you designated that place as a pickup point. As the package was under Argo/Sainsbuy's care when it was stolen, by the sounds of it by someone employed by them, using the name of another employee. Then this should have been a police matter, i.e. theft by fraud. I would never use a third party company as a pickup. They would have something in their terms of use about not being responsible for any items left in their care. I would sooner ask a family member if they can take a delivery of an item, or pay for it to be delivered on a certain day.

I Had a parcel that was late and they said it had been delivered? when i worked out how to track it it had been delivered. The Front Door wasn't even mine!? As i live in a close nit community we tracked it down! I couldn't believe it. It was for 2 x 1 TB SSD drives. When i opened the packet it was a Chinesse phone case! Something really needs to be done about these scammers and the people responsible for the parcel actually getting to you!

I once had an ebay item that I put down as click and collect from Argos@Sainsburys in the Arnison Centre at Pity Me (Yes, that is the name of an actual place), anyway, I waited for the SMS from argos, over a week later, I check and apparently, it was dropped off, with a picture of the package. So I got onto the seller, and told them the score, then went into the store to see where it was, and they never had a clue... Yep, turned out, someone in the store (Sainsburys side) signed for it under a managers name (Who was off that day), and, erm, nicked it! So I went back to the seller and they instantly put the shutters up in sending a replacement or giving me a refund, saying it was my fault and it had been delivered to the stated address... After a bit too'ing and fro'ing I just had to get on to eBay and put in a dispute. Eventually I received a refund, and a message from the sellor that my custom wasn't welcome anymore... As if it was all my fault and I should of taken responsibility? :/ Couldn't believe it!

Well if it's not here by 10pm today. I shall be asking for the money paid for next day delivery back. And if it's not here by the end of Monday. I'll be wanting the money back. And I've heard that they are bastards when it comes to getting a resolution from them. Thing is I could have travelled to their bloody warehouse to pick it up. And it would have only cost me a bit of time and the cost of what the next day delivery cost me.

Your not the onlyone. Happens to me a lot. If you live out in the sticks. EVRI couriers are a nightmare. Hope you get the nextday at least.

Something tells me that I'm going to have some issues with ebuyer. Ordered something for next day delivery, and the courier still hasn't received it yet. It should have been delivered by 12 noon.

Snow and hail for our neck of the woods yesterday, very squally when it was coming down... Like proper driving into your mush... One of them days where you'd see everyone walking about like a dog which doesnt know where a sound is coming from!

its been a smashing 5 days......yeah the temperature dipped a little, but this afternoon I'd a 15 min walk between buildings, it was dry, and it bloody hosed it down whilst inside, in between hosing down sessions. Happy dayz!

The agony of progress. Not upgraded flstudio for a bit and discovered that one of the best plugins is no longer  supported because it's 32bit only. The reason for this from what I've read is that they lost the source code, so no 64 bit version.

And... Normal meteorological services have resumed, sorry for the confusion into thinking it was going to warm up.... Brrrrr!!!

i am already in the south of spain, since mid january. this is another world : sunny / cloudy, good temperatures, dry grounds, some rain and some wind sometimes but it does not last long. overal it is much better (for me 😀) than the grey wet weather in France, during the winter months ! 

Well, I'm hoping for a nice summer, last summer was spent on the couch after my operation on me goolie bits! *I can laugh now, but f*** me, I wasnt laughing then mind*

The amount of grey and miserable days we've had is quite depressing, lol. Hopefully we'll get a nice long sunny summer this year

Cool. It's always a different vibe when we get great weather in the UK isn't it? I was at Ogmore-by-Sea yesterday with the Mrs Steve and Doggie. A run on the beach, ice creams and the Pelican Pub for a meal and a few beers after.

I'm diving in with you on this. I'm beginning to loathe seeing AI generated art and hearing AI voices plastered all over the place as it's quick and easy. It has it's place and it can be great for many things but it's worse than asset flipping at the moment

@Amon ..yes..what turns me off in an instant, is AI voiceover..regardless how well done video content is, as soon as AI voice start blabbering, i turn off damn video..so so annoying..

Youtube is filling up with AI generated videos. Everything from fake movie trailers to news to bloody everything. You can't click on a vid and have it be legit content. Fedup

 

Binged watched the final part 3 Great bit of nostalgia cheese at it's best Roll on the Karate Kid : Legends film. Hopefully a decent Cobrai Kai spin off perhaps.

@dawlane I've not read anything about KeyChain Access being deprecated? It's not just passwords so wouldn't make sense to migrate it over. Just my crappy take on things 

@Qube Looks like that they may be depreciating KeyChain in favour of Password.App with it being hidden. Though I haven't found any information about it yet

Just press CMD   SPACE and type in KeyChain. No need to go into the Library folder.

I think I've been off my medication for too long. I've only gone a bought a iMac M4. I could have used the money on something better like retro computers instead! Now I have to get reacquainted with Xcode. An I've now got to read up on the passwords app, with MacOS Sequoia no longer shipping the keychain app. It is there, but hidden in the Library directory. And don't get me started on bloody gate keeper.
