Understanding steam sales by country

Greetings.

Is this unusual or is Canada just a smaller market than most for games.

My game on steam has had between 15 to 20 sales to each of russia, china and us.

It has also had some sales in Turkey, Western Europe and other nations.

But...it has had zero sales in Canada?

Is this normal?

My guess had been that Canada sales would sit higher than Australia, Turkey and a few other nations but less than the top 3 already mentioned.

We cannot estimate stuff:
- Canadian steam user count (compared to Turkey) ?
- Price tag for "Turkey" and "Canada" ?
- do Canadians register as "US" (assume they speak French, not English)
- How many sales to Brazil or other "big countries" (size does not always matter) ?
- maybe all Canadians love software piracy :-)


What also comes into my mind:
- maybe Canada (and other countries) sort the games a bit differently (other games "more important" etc)
- some "countries" might not even list your games for some reason (partial nudity, war, religion, ... whatever fits)
- some "countries" might not list your games as it has not gained a rating of their official rating board (or it is "rated 18 or older" automatically)
