[Bmx-Vanilla] Audio related crashes
« on: October 12, 2020, 12:24:10 PM »
So I shared my demo (PC-Windows) to over 1k people over Discord and some of them cannot even run the game unless they changed audio driver from 'Direct Sound' to 'FreeSound DirectSound' through game config file. Some of them run the game but has random crashes (I suspect audio driver also). Game is using DirectX9. Almost all of them has decent machines with Win10.

My question is: what is the proper audio driver I should use and why it was crashing the game?

Can random crashes be caused because Vanilla is just too old and has some conflicts with Win10?

No idea why it was crashing but in my experience, OpenAL was always the safest option.
