Softpedia doesn't have
« on: October 03, 2020, 12:11:29 AM »
Hi...Softpedia is a very popular website and I searched for some softwares on Softpedia.

Then I discovered many BASIC languages there.

FreeBASIC
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/FreeBasic.shtml
QB64
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/QB64.shtml
PureBasic
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/PureBasic.shtml
Basic256
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/BASIC-256.shtml
B4J
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/B4J.shtml
AppGameKit
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/SDK-DDK/AppGameKit-IDE.shtml
BlitzPlus
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Coding-languages-Compilers/BlitzPlus.shtml

I was surprised because BlitzMax(or BlitzMax NG) is not on Softpedia. Cerberus-X is also not on Softpedia. The above languages were reviewed by their reviewers. Maybe Softpedia's reviewers do not notice the existences of BlitzMax and Cerberus-X. Anyway, I hope that they will discover the two languages.

I'd argee with B4J, I have a little on/off app sitting there, go to it when I'm bored, very Visual Basic'y, but as a set of dev tools go, it's pretty sweet for applications... And its free!!! Though B4J is only one part, the whole suite for desktop/mobile etc is B4X. B4i is interesting because you can use it to develop iOS apps without actually having a local Mac, never tried it, and its a paid for feature, but... yeah, thats a thing.

Not sure why B4A is so low down the list there then B4J mind... They are pretty much the same if you ask me, granted little different ways of doing things, but overall, to me its just as good as the others in the suite! :)

Maybe B4J is so much higher because compiled apps can be ran on any platform that supports Java.  B4A will only run on Android.

After reading your explanation, I learn a lot. B4X software family is very useful. :)
