I upgraded from a Ryzen 7 3800X and 16GB 2400mhz ram to a Ryzen 9 3950X + 64GB DDR4 3200mhz Ram. The difference in speed and power is stupendous. Rendering in Blender has significantly improved.

I'm just waiting now for the RTX 3090 to be released. That will take my PC gaming to a whole new level.

Congrats, and with a RTX 3090 it'll be a real beast of a machine, although the RTX 2080 TI is no slouch!   :o

And your PSU is then eating 700 Watts (when ... using your hardware ... of course) ?

I have a 1200w Corsair PSU so it's no bother :)

What do you pay per kWh of power consumption? ~30 Euro cent here (0,30 Eur)

People that buy Ferrari and Lambourghini don't care/think for how much the fuel cost. If they do then they can't afford it in the first place.

Nice setup!  :o

Why did you go for 3200 MHZ for your upgrade though? As I have read, the sweet spot for AMD Ryzen is 3600-3800 MHZ.

I plan to build a new PC around the 5900X or 5950X. I'm a bit worried about the high power consumption, if bundled with a NV 3080 e.g. :(
