A crazy piece of fiction set during the Black Death

From my journal :

The Craziest Historical Conspiracy Theory

Have you ever wondered why there are less left handed people than right?

Or why in English there are only 26 letters of the alphabet?

Or why in medieval times left handedness was associated with crime and murder?

Then read on....

Many years ago, as Europe remained in the grip of the Black Death a suspicion grew that witchcraft was the cause of the disease wiping out whole villages.

Witch Hunters roamed the countryside putting to death men, women and children believed responsible for the curse.

Archaeological evidence has now shown that in the British Isles at least before 1347 there were as many left handed people as right.

Furthermore in a site on the Isle of Wight a set of scrolls were recently uncovered dating from that period written in English but notably with an unusual scribing technique.

The alphabet used appears to be a mirror image of our modern alphabet today. There are also documents with mixed character sets of both mirrored and standard alphabetic characters.

Among these are correspondences between two families about the political climate and heightening tensions across the country.

After some research and further developments it has come to light that between 1345 and 1353 England suffered a major genocide on the basis of accused witchcraft and those who were left hand dominant were the targets.

Families were rent asunder as left handed people among them were murdered wherever they were found.

And the alphabet?

Research has shown there were once 52 glyphs in the alphabet - one for each week with the majority of the now missing characters a reflection of the remaining 26.

New information has revealed that the Black Death that plagued Europe was not a flea infested disease but rather a genocidal craze that eliminated left handers and even went as far as destroying the alphabet - expunging both the characters themselves and the writings that included them.

And so here begins the tale of the darkest page in history....
