I call fake scene, that desk is way too tidy :O :))

Very nice tablet indeed. I use the iPad Pro 12.9" with Apple Pencil which works really well too.

I hated tablets whereby the lag between pen movement and on screen feedback was such a disconnect it'd drive you bonkers.

Do you use yours for any game art or just for personal drawings?

Never outsourced media as I've read too many horror stories to risk losing my hard earned beer tokens.

I like the Sidecar feature to mirror the screen onto the iPad and use the pencil in apps like photoshop while quickly sketching out stuff.

It does take some getting used to but having no lag and decent pressure sensitivity is a vast improvement over the ancient tablets I tried.

Yep you put me to shame, my Man-cave is no where near as tidy...Plus that looks like a sizable mac there...And you hate macs.   ;)

Nice monitor setup and the tablet looks the business.

Trying to get back to gamedev.  Artwork, or rather, sourcing/funding it has always been an obstacle so this seemed like a solid investment.

Yep paying for art seems expensive (a possiblity of being ripped off) and much less fun letting somebody else do it for you.  Talking of art I just bought Aseprite, which should at least be better than Photoshop for sprite animation, plus it's a dedicated sprite designer.

Test the Affinity stuff during their 90 day free trial and I must say, I was impressed. But yes,
Clip Studio Paint Ex is my favorite drawing tool as well.

I do hate Macs!  But I bought it in early 2010 (it's a Late 2009, Core 2 duo, 21.5") when I released Magicville - the proceeds of which paid for the Mac, just so I could compile a Mac version, and sell that as well.  It's pretty much only ever been used for compiling Blitzmax stuff on.  I doubt there's another ten year old Mac in existence in such mint condition, which is why it's so fucking heartbreaking that it's practically worthless. :(

Ah, right.  I just thought you had a MacBook Pro laptop or similar, rather than a full sized desktop mac.

QuoteYeah... I won't go over it again but I ended up over three grand out of pocket cos of an artist who walked off the job half way through, and refused to even reply to emails until I got lawyers involved (which cost me another £700).
Eek, another fine reason why I'd never outsource stuff unless I could go around to their work place for a refund.

QuoteHaven't seen this mentioned anywhere but Affinity Photo is pretty damn awesome.  There's also Affinity Designer if vector art is more your thing.  As direct replacements for Photoshop/Illustrator, this is as close as you'll get.
Affinity Photo / Designer are excellent alternatives to the hyper expensive Adobe versions. I'd bet it'd be a lot more popular if wasn't for the mentality that Adobe is the only option.
