Now... Hand me the cattle prod!

lol hammering the keys like there's no tomorrow...I was putting off re-writing a couple of functions because they were just chucked in, they worked but had no room for easy use when additions came...So a case of oh look, I can tweak the graphics a bit (to distract me).  Did both in the end so all sorted now.  Onwards and upwards.   :D

I’ve had to ditch the idea of fluid 2D animation as doing the transitions between A to B has too many variations to spend the time on doing it all properly. Instead I’ll opt for the classic few frames 2D animation and let the brain fill in the blanks ;D

Well it looked like a lot of work, maybe after the comp is over a 're-mastered' version?

Here's the latest screenshot of my retro shooter, I've got bombs exploding alongside laser shots, gamepad support, animation and particle effects working the way I want now:

MacOS Big Sur 64-bit, 8Gb RAM, Intel i5 2.3 Ghz, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB

Coming from you praise indeed.  Haha, yeah I've always loved particle effects since I bought Zarch for my Archimedes.   :o Blimey, there's 200 particles for each explosion already (50 in each of 4 directions)...Although only 1 enemy on-screen at the moment, so more particles to come!  :))

Thanks Qube, I'm currently looking to produce a Retro 2D Pixel-art and Particle Aesthetic for my games.  We'll see how this one turns out then I'll decide if I produce more games with this look.   :)

Although I do want to complete my vector graphics game after the comp - vector graphics is also a very nice aesthetic IMO.
