Very pretty, so some game details?

Haven't really got a design fleshed out design yet. Going for a cut down 4x. Currently trying out some of the visual stuff. Aiming for a board game inspired experience, hence the small map and edged border.

Probably going to look at a few basic end game conditions, military (destroy other player's main city = win), or Science (reach top of of tech ladder) Economic (Build X number of cities), Cultural (Build a wonder).. once the end game condition has been met - Victory Points are used to determine the winner of the game.

Very nice jamesmin, very nice looking artwork. Is the map all your own work or part of a texture pack?

The map is from a Creative Commons collection of scanned historical artwork. I believe this one was from the 1600s.

..and I've also just gotten the fog system working. As you can see I have a cut a square out of the center of the map.

Looking awesome the 3D/2D combination works well

Cool work, jamesmin, you've made it look right the part ;D

Fired up the old laptop to see jamesmin's most impressive cut scene graphics, well thats the only way I'll be motivated to say - I'm defo in. Can't reveal the genre of my game after all, generally speaking I shoot for the moon and sometimes miss (apart from 'The Big Dark Adventure', I'd so much gratification from hanging that mad old entry together).

So.... I need to realise my time constraints (40 ish hour week with a 500 mile commute on either side on occasion) - and get something out the door for Oktoberfest  ;D

I'm in I guess, not to sure what to make though. I'll most likely work on it sparingly given how hectic things
are over here.
It's a thing that doe's when it don't..

Finally I know what I'm going to do. A game I loved in the arcade as a kid. Not a direct copy of course but it should be fun as I've never done a game like this or even the animated graphics needed. Gotta challenge yourself ;D

Burger Time?  I love that game too, but I don't think I could beat the gameplay (it's perfect) plus I don't want to get sued lol.  I have some graphics (including animation) if you think you could produce something original then you can use my sprites.

Yeah, you gotta go with that one, man. It was a great game for its time and I'm sure it will be great to play the old classic again.

Erm, btw, what is it? :-)
