Picked up a CRT Monitor today from Mum's Attic.  I don't know if it even works, but I won't trust the VGA Cable it came with so will source a new one.  If it works then it should be great for retro gaming on my Spectrum Next/C64 or Arcade Machine Emulator.

A CRT is the way to go for retro gaming. I wonder if it looks as good as we remember? :P
Mac Studio M1 Max ( 10 core CPU - 24 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD,
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 32G DDR5 RAM 1T PCIe 4.0 SSD
MSI MEG 342C 34" QD-OLED Monitor

Until the next time.

lol it's not too large (for a CRT) 17 inch, and yes CRT is optimal for authenticity, some flatscreen tv's/monitors can look rubbish.  For my arcade machine emulator it's running all sorts of shaders to get near a genuine CRT look - and bezels too (with the arcade art)...Which obviously requires more CPU/GPU power to produce.  So instead the Pi 3 could simply plug into a 4:3 CRT to get the same look - but get a faster (more accurate) emulation because it doesn't need to use shaders or bezel art.

Cool story, but I can only imagine the arse-end of a 24 inch monitor - huge!!   :o

Well that's just it (awkward buggers to move about).  My CRT is only 19KG but it's box was about the size of the attic opening, and I had to get it down a 9 foot standard (ie quite flimsy) loft ladder on my own.
