I enjoyed those demos. The principle coder (Blueghost) sure has some fine coding chops!

Indeed.  And BasicBoy, there are some demos even written in (BBC BASIC!) on just a pi2.  :)

Jeez. Who ever made those things is a such a lamer!  ::)

Steve Elliott

lol.  Then you must be motivated to get your BBC BASIC code running on a pi of some sort?  ;)

I am actually dw1664 - the bloke who made those BBC BASIC/RPi demos  :D   (...in case you didn't realise).

I've recently bought an RPi4 (2GB model) which, when running, I keep at around 36 degrees C thanks to a cheap USB-powered fan from Amazon. I've been tinkering a bit with BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0, and rediscovering the joys of ARM assembly language (which is pretty easy), and improving my lame C 'skills'.

Perhaps in time for the next SyntaxBomb Code-A-Game compo?  :)

..  ;D ..these are controllers from oil rig..oil rig is some 30 years old and these controllers failing at rapid rate, so they wanted to replace with new but manufacturer doesnt make it anymore and instead asking to install new system, which costs a fortune, so there i came, took project to design these controllers (50 of them per rig, 70 rigs in total), with new processors/firmware and few more goodies, but must be seamless with old system..just plug and play, no setup..they control stabilizer tanks, bilge pump system and so on..hehe..cool stuff..

..this one here control ballast tanks on oil rig(stabilizers)..  ;D

that is both uber impressive and sooo cool   8)

@NA are you an electronic engineer? Do you have like a degree on that?

Qube

@NA, very cool indeed - So 50 per rig across 70 rigs = 3500 controllers? did you make that many? :o - each one cost £100 so £350,000 for 5 minutes work ;D

..hehe..my price for one controller board is 500 USD (original price when they sold them to Petronas was 1000USD)..and its certainly not a 5 minutes work  ;D , time given is 3 months as i have to design, and manufacture PCB's with new chipset and inject firmware in to new processors and write that firmware, with protection features(overvoltage/overcurrent/short/noise filters, etc,  which existing cards doesnt have at all).. ;D ..so, time is 3 months to deliver first 50 cards..after that is installed, next 50 cards, and so on(they will let me know when to ship next 50 in a cycle)..I did 9 complete factories around here (automated old stuff and made process run on its own from old machines), and some toyota assembly plants(5 in total) in Thailand, and many more other things ( eg. coffee packing machines/controllers) ..

@Kryzon
Yes, i do have PhD in a field and patents regarding industrial microcontrollers/firmware.   ;D

Qube

Wow, well cool NA, very impressed. Ladies and gentlemen we have a bonafide smart dude with a PhD here. See, we're not all uneducated geeks and nerds ;D

..thank you Q...but much as it sounds cool, i have to say, its most useless time i have ever spent..  ;D ..i can say with great confidence that, there is almost nothing, and i mean nothing that i use in line of work that match content of 'learning curve path' which was taken in order to obtain such certificate..it did help to open 'few doors', but after that, means nothing if you cant perform whats needed, at places i went trough..
