Cube Wars
« on: August 09, 2019, 10:48:23 PM »
Ive just finished a remake of my first ever game. The original was made in YABasic on the ps2 using a ps2 controller.
First I learnt the Rect command, then I learned how to color it red so i made 2 cubes, one red one blue. Then I learnt how to move them using loops and variables so tagging those variables into controller commands was easy so I had two playable cubes on a black screen with nothing else they could do so I made them bash each other and the winner was the one that bashed the other player into the screens edges. and thats how I made my first game. I added power ups and a start screen and later an AI controlled opponent but thats the story. So about 15 years later I decided to remake it with some additions.
The bouncing mechanic is near identicle to the original.
