I've not touched a line of code for a week so told the missus that i was going to do some tinkering this afternoon with a game I started working on before the current competition.

Picture shows what she brought to my desk for me. Not sure if it was to encourage creativity or if it's because she's thankful I'm back in the man-cave so she can watch crap Netflix shows again :-)

What is this... Can one eat it or does it bite?

I am also tinkering about some new game ideas here and there. Would still like to do a child-oriented game ...so for the youngest. Little chew chew train sim or so. Maybe 3D to save efforts when it comes to render all the stuff. Tablet would be best suited for control through childs. And they do not need the most complex gameplay nor AI.
Would even like to try a collaboration with interested but this wont be easy regarding the planned target audience...its just nothing single or senior male coders are interested in :)

That's the cleanest desk I have ever seen in my life. :)
Mine has cookie crumbs, empty packets of crisps and cans of pop, and an ashtray full of dogends. :D

The missus hates my desk having crap on it so she cleans the desk and screens every couple of days. If she didn't then, believe me, mine would probably look worse than yours :D

Hot cross buns, Derron. It's nearly Easter.

For me it's a glass of wine that loosens the creative flow

Naughty Alien

Steps as follows

1) Cup of coffee
2) Turn on lava lamp (all psychedelic light forms in existence are present)
3) Turn off lights in a room so lava lamp do some trickery on the walls

..code with stupid smile on the face(both me and my cat)..  ;D

This takes as long as my lady rock in and bust it all in to pieces, cat hides and im with face of an angel...you gotta love Helga  ;D

Before i work on any project:

1. Get a piece of cardboard, a hammer and some nails
2. Nail the ever-loving shit out of the window, with the cardboard, so no sun comes through.
3. Make sure the wife is taken care of or even better, sleeping
4. Lava Lamp.  Glad i saw this above.
5. Use a 'blue light reduction' app (or the build in Win10 Nightlight) + my Gunnar glasses
6. Take off belt (restricts creativity  :P)
7. Play 'Windows XP setup theme' or 'Drifing 2' by Audionautix.
8. Fresh brew of rootbeer

Done.  :))

Optional:

- Multi-monitors (I have 3 total monitors)
- A sticky notes program (I suggest 'simple sticky notes'; very advanced)

QuoteHot cross buns, Derron. It's nearly Easter.
Yes, we Brits tend to half toast a hot cross bun, cut it in half and plaster it with butter and shove it into our face like we're starving ;D

Usually it's just raw inspiration but if that fails then copious amounts of wine get me back on track :P - But in all seriousness if I'm having a coding down then I take a break and watch the latest episodes of my favourite TV shows or blast around YouTube.
