remember that iso is a very strict discipline to follow. 2d graphics, the display ratio is 2:1, and ALL base lines are parallel!

Here's a base grid as an example...

P.S. depth sorting is not quite as simple as x*z*y > x1*y1*z1  8)

I don't think we should do an isometric contest.  Those of us in the USA are still using the isoimperial system and it would unfairly restrict us.  Maybe if we allow both systems.  Would be difficult, as things might scale differently on the PAL and NTSC machines.  Also, we would have to add a restriction on colors as those in the UK have an extra u in their colours.  So how about you can make either an isometric or isoimperial, no u in your choice of colors, and must scale properly on NTSC and PAL computers?

I like isometric - wrote two isometric  games for one of the comps last year (and submitted one of them - the young prince)

I would happily do another....as long as the rest of the theme suited my interests

I don't mean to put the car amongst the pigeons.... With all this fervour about the next competition, there might need to be some curve balls to prevent those with previous in the old isometric land getting ahead of time coding wise.
