..yes, syntax is a bit 'weird', but overall feeling for me is very similar to NB, regardless underlying rendering system...basically, it works as advertised and it works very well...that was my point of view when comparison with NB has been made..

What engine is Bobysait working on?  Is he still working on it?  Is there a website I can log in to see a demo?

but since, apparently, there is no money earning potential for this, bobysait has most likely moved on to others things...

but knowing how good he was, he could have replaced mark no problem (imo)

@Derron

Thanks for the clarification.  Thats why I asked, because you were confusing me there a bit!
Prepare to be assimilated !  Resistance is futile!

This thread reminded me of Josh Klint's engine, check it out: https://www.leadwerks.com/engine.php

Interesting to see that it's now Windows-only, the other platforms probably weren't worth the cost of supporting.

Josh and his Leadwerks engine...wow. Looks nice, looks nice. I remember him abandoning one of the Leadwerks engine. Was it v2...when he wanted to go all mobile? I remember him saying on the blitzbasic.com forums that desktop was dead and the future is mobile and he was pretty stubborn about it. Oh well...

:D

Xaron

To be honest, Josh committed that he was wrong with going mobile. It's just not maintainable for a small team.

His stuff looks much more focused now. I wish him the best with his current engine.

Yes, and he clarifies with "PC, the number one platform for games in the world."  That would not make sense to have PC (Windows) Mac OS and Linux as also number 1.

Yeah I think he created quite a lovely engine. Personally I use Unity atm.

I didn't see that, I just assumed it was Win only because people use "Windows" and "PC" interchangeably (despite "PC" meaning any computer that is... personal).

@Leadwerks it does look nice, he's found a niche of making it an engine "for people of all backgrounds", giving priority to ease of use.

Steve Elliott

Yes he clearly doesn't like to use the word Windows.   ::)
