Source code for BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0 will be released
« on: September 18, 2018, 02:52:31 PM »
Hi, I discover this thread in another forum. Richard Russell will release the source code. I hope that  BBCSDL(BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0) will have a very bright future.

That's great to know. It's a great language and being made open source will - hopefully - ensure it's future.

Looked at BBC basic a couple of years ago and just took another look. For the windows version it's 30 quid . Hmm I think it's a bit steep . Paid 25 quid when it was on offer  and feel that AGK2 is way better. I used to own the BBC model B in about 1984 . Paid 250 for a reconditioned one upgraded it to an opus disk operating system another couple of hundred quid so I'm not against BBC Basic I just feel times have moved on . I had a sprite generator for it too and made my first computer game on it . Have a nice day.
