Hello folks...looking for wisdom here:

Our Pronto server at work uses a printcap file to define each printer's capabilities (fonts and so on)

Does anyone know if there is the ability to specify Chinese characters (traditional or simplified) as a different character set.

I know there is a 'acs' flag which seems to control character sets, and also an sgr flag which sets graphic renditions(perhaps necessary?)

Any knowledge here?

Hi Matty,

I have zero knowledge myself, but from the depths of internet I found this:

http://www.frascati.enea.it/documentation/tru6450/SUPPDOCS/CHINADOC/CHINACH8.HTM

Look for "8.4.1   Country-Specific Options to the lpr command (printcap file)"
