UPX is a great application compressor and I used to use it years ago in the days of dial up internet to reduce the exe size for sending clients apps.

Good to see it's still in active development :)

Mac Studio M1 Max ( 10 core CPU - 24 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD,
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 32G DDR5 RAM 1T PCIe 4.0 SSD
MSI MEG 342C 34" QD-OLED Monitor

Until the next time.

Don't forget to use --ultra-brute to get the maximum compression. :-?

UPX has the disadvantage that it *could* generate false positives on Anti-Virus-Scanners. I don't use it anymore because some Users complained that some my releases contain a "Virus" and McAfee even put my homepage on their blacklist, and it was hard to get it away from there. And I don't see the point to compress the executable as Assets consume much more space now than the executable itself.

So if you use UPX, upload the executable to a online Virus Scanner like Virustotal first before you release it to see if it becomes suspicious there.
Kind regards
Krischan
