The new Atari console was released under crowd funding yesterday:

It's currently got over 2million!!

Atari is always "back". Pretty impressive to get the funding done so quickly though.

It looks lovely, retro with a modern twist.  But will it just end up like the Ouya?

Interesting but I think I'd wait until I saw it actually hit the shops and if it was popular. I've got an Atari clone console thing already and I wasn't that impressed with it. The built in games seem to be remakes or something , rather than the original VCS games.

Since moving to my new house, we found that the loft had a 3 desk set-up left there so, as well as using it to store all the inevitable crap, I've been working on a kind of retro museum where I can preserve some old consoles and computers. The missus doesn't go up in the loft as she hates the ladder so, as well as having our second bedroom as a man-cave, I'm allowed to put all my equipment up there because it's out of sight, so out of mind. Here's a couple of photo's of the stuff I've got up there so far. I'm planning all sorts of bits that I kind of add whenever it's pay day and I find something interesting on Ebay.

Sounds like it could be another ZX Vega+ in the making.

I'm still keeping my eye on the ZX Spectrum Next. The board only version has been rolled out and they are still perfecting the new case and keyboard.
Their estimated time for delivery was Aug 2017 for the board only and Jan 2018 for the case version.

Xerra the 'loft cave' looks good.

I wish I'd kept all my computers and a couple of consoles.  My very first computer I did keep, but sadly doesn't work anymore (ZX Spectrum).

I do have a Rasberry pi 3 B+ running Retropie arcade games, and aim to build an arcade cabinet some day.

If you still have your Speccy. You can send it over to Ian Gledhill at Mutant Caterpillar Games. I have used his services a few times.

Ian is the chap I emailed ref the Vic 20 as I need to get that working too, now I have one. I've not sent it yet but it sounds like he's repaired a good many in his time so I will be doing so after I come back from holiday and get paid again :)

The retro cave is full of only recent additions as all my old computers have long gone too. I can't even remember what happened to my original Vic 20, but the C64 got stolen and I lost both my Amiga 1200's when my mother put them in our old shed after I left home. The shed with the broken window that let all the rain in. Not to mention she forgot to take them out again before moving house. Such a shame.

Yeah, I like the look of it, but I don't see how it's going to be better than the Ouya. There wasn't really a market for Ouya 5 years ago but will the Atari be popular?
I mean we already have Snes, NesMini and the Megadrive one etc. And in my opinion better games on those already. Time will tell, I guess.
