This is really some top notch content. The in game editor also looks very nifty!

Regarding performance I assume you're making use of Render tweening?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes render tweening....but I need to re-visit my routine as I'm getting some laggy results because I have used basic commands to move about in the world (ie: moveX = moveX + 1) rather than a time multiplier etc.

My main issue is still a LOD system that increases my frame rate. It's ok at the moment but it still dips below the desired minimum *(25) more often than I want

This is fantastic looking work, great to see Blitz3D still being used to good effect. Fastlibs is a great library, I use it for GUI buttons in my little old project. Great looking editor too!

I think a good 2D engine, or a basic 3D Engine can create some wonderful games - if the creative mind behind it does just that - be creative.
