The augmented reality supports a very narrow range of devices, https://developers.google.com/ar/discover/#supported_devices.  If you have a recent Samsung or Google device, you're ok, but my almost new LG with 7.0 Nougat falls short. :(
Wait a minute, Huawei is supported, but not my LG? >:(

Perhaps depends on raw CPU/GPU power?

I've an Samsung S7 Edge with Android 7.0, which is supported, but my older S5 isn't apparently..

Experimented with adding shadow to the plane.
Now only need a way to show only a shadow and make the rest of the plane fully transparent.
