Might be a good idea to:

- link to the competition vote thread in the portal (right where you are talking about the competition)
- maybe add a little graphic block (a screenshot of all entries side by side fits well with only 4 entries) to attract users

If you want I could produce a little gfx this morning and post it here. (screens in order of submission).

Two simple banners:

1)
(take no offense if your screenshot is covered more than others)

2)

Tried to imitate the syntaxbomb style while keeping it a bit different (colors of the gradient look a bit dull when next to the screens). Dear fellow developers: please do not feel offended by seeing your screenshots truncated. I tried to use areas important for your game - and using a smaller viewport allows to show a bit details on these small images.

And it maybe is already in and I've missed something, but reading my messages, I cannot see what I posted.  So when somebody replies sometime later, I cannot remember what I originally said!   ;)

Done :) - Although you might have to remove your cache for this site alone or wait until the css decides to load rather than use web cache.

In your messages > preferences there is a tick box "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default." which will save PM's you send.

@Derron - Cool, thanks, I will add that to the portal landing page :)

Hi,

The topic is "Site suggestions, the future and other stuff". Actually, I have a feeling about the future of SyntaxBomb forum.

SyntaxBomb forum may be as popular as TIGSource forum in the future. SyntaxBomb forum may become an important forum for indie game developers.

Good luck!
:)

Dabz

Well Syntaxbomb has been like a bit of a phoenix really, this is its second coming, the first one we had a few members, but not many, looking back, it wasnt really sustainable for Qube to keep it going, as per the usual, everyone and his dog said they'd love to see a third party Blitz forum, so Qube obliged, worked on it heaps, it was even vBulletin so it had all the features that people were crying out for... And when it opened, there was about... 6 or seven of us! :D

He even provided users with webspace, FTP, email and all that with a syntaxbomb domain, and people still couldnt be chewed to get involved... And this was a time when getting free webspace was a "thing"!

Hopefully though, it'll go from strength to strength this time! :)

Yes, but that was in the days of the official Blitz site, which has now gone.

Yeah, I know... But when nearly 100 people say they will use it if it was put up, and they dont when it is... I personally think that's a bit of a piss take really!

This is why I always roll my eyes when I see stuff about "community" based stuff, like, "Lets make a community based game", or, "Let the community do this"... Sound idea's, but when it comes to the crunch, we're crap at that sort of thing! :D
