Write a line and hit Enter once.
Works. Hit it now twice for a free/empty line.

There is also Shift-enter, which creates a (smaller)new line without the <p> tag.

Derron

I know about paragraphs and line breaks but the "default" behaviour in such forms is "single enter =
".

For me the problem arises from the inconsistency. If I really wanted a paragraph then the BBCode should have that added to the text

[p]MyText paragraph[p] ...

But all the form here in this forum does is converting a "double line break" to a "quadruple line break". Also it is not that a manually done "double line break" in non-wysiwyg-mode converts to a "paragraph" when returning to wysiwyg.
And I think you are right in which direction to look for this "bug/issue" - as strictly writing in "non-wysiwyg-mode" does not have this issue.

It's a programmer forum/website
Maybe a bit of responsive design would make it more relevant/serious.

BTW, i've got few years of experience with smf CMS. If you need a little help ... ["from my friends"]

ps : I like the color scheme of the forum (dark-grey/yellow)
I don't like the gradients, it doesn't fit with the "blocky" style
Make it more "blocky" ! ^_^

I'll have to install a blank SMF forum to see if these wysiwyg issues exist on default settings.

Serious? Never in a million years :P - If this site were every to move into a more responsive design then I'd be writing a custom forum from fresh. It all depends on the needs of members over time.

I think it's impossible to have a theme that everyone likes. I like this current theme, it's easy on the eyes.

It's on me to-do list :D - I will get a chat room in here but the ones I've seen so far are either way too expensive, linked to an external 3rd party or flash based ( not a chance these days ). I'll probably have to code my own but I will be doing it, I will, I will :)

Hi,

New user here... Is it possible to make the forum usable with Tapatalk? (mobile app for forums) as this site is not responsive.

A plugin for Simple Machine is available here: https://www.tapatalk.com/download_SimpleMachines.php

So long as that plugin doesn't cause issues then I can certainly install it. I will look over it today and if I see no obvious security holes or compatibility issues I will happily add it in.

OK, had a look at tapatalk and as it has / can lead to security issues then I'll not be adding it here, sorry :(

Hi Qube,

Ok understood.

Do you have any link regarding these security issues? I am asking this, because I am running several PHP BB board with Tapatalk so it may be interesting to know for me.

Qube

Hi Alain, just Google "tapatalk security" and you'll see that it's been peppered over the years ( and still today ) with security issues.

In the gallery, yellow text on a light grey background makes the text hard too read.
