The 'O' in  the SyntaxBomb logo should/could(open to debate :-) also be a Bomb as in the site's fav icon.
See our little discussion among with Krischan's creation in here:

Thanks Qube. It now looks more like a logo than just plain text.

BTW: the fav icon now shows up ok in IE11 too.

Could you add a page with all the embed codes for the forum like the bb forums did?

Hi

- SSL (use letsencrypt and you will be fine) as FF/Chrome warn users to input login data on non-ssl'd/https'd pages

- With my Linux-Chrome I am not able to use the portal login (left side and header top) as it says that my session has timed out for posting. Had to use the "forum - Login"-Link to log in successfully

- have a contact mail address in the footer to be able to get contacted by people who are not able to login here (like I thought first of).

bye

I suggest posts for new comers should be validated by a moderator first for the very first, say, 5 or 10 posts then no more validation is needed after that.
By this spam posts will come to an end!

Yup, the spammers have found us :( - For weeks now I've been deleting obviously spammer account but I see the auto-bots have finally started posting too. I will see what options I have on these forums ( or via plugin ) to manually authorise the first few posts.

Hopefully you won't have to go through many posts.

I just had a idea, maybe you could just filter or lock the ability to post hyperlink's for the first few posts.
Just a random thought, maybe it could help cut down on the work you have to do.

And what's this about deleting spammer account prior to now? I don't remember seeing anything.

From the options I can see there is no ability to do that, which would be handy and an obvious first port of call to us mere mortals. There are options to moderate based on post count but I have to create new membership groups and move current users. Too tired to do that right now but will look at it today after I've had some pillow love.

We get about 10 sign ups per day from our international friends. I check once per day and remove these accounts before they post but now that we're having instant posters it's time to increase spammer checks. I will sort something out today :)

Anti-spam now in place :D

On a members very first post it will need approving. Once approved the member can then post without any further approval required.

That should take care of those pesky spam bots  >:(
