Here's an amended xmas logo featuring the snow and corrected reflection:

If you plan to have a "good" reflection then the y needs to have its tail on the same base line as the other letters. also the bomb needs to get moved to the upper so the baseline can properly meet the ground.

And to all of us perfectionists: a reflection would reflect what is seen from the _bottom_ not from the top - talking about ingoing/outgoing angles like when viewing into a mirror with a non planar view to it.

To avoid all that hassle I would prefer a logo without any reflection.

And when writing something about the logo at all:
- bomb uses cartoon shading (no gradient but cell-shading)
- text uses gradients
- snow uses blurred shadow portions.

Excuse for derailing, but as you already create a new topic for that logo, I just thought of adding something for the next incarnation of the logo.

bye

Just like my coding, a mixture of all sorts of methods :P

Perhaps when the Christmas lights vanish for another year we should have a little logo comp whereby all you design wizards can come up with a snazzy new logo? :)
Until the next time...

Maybe a logo competition is something for people with less ah..uhm... "coding mojo".

@ Coding mix
Yeah, source code might be a mess - similar to all the layers in photoshop. But pictures should then better be compared to final applications/"exe's".

personally. I like the current logo. it fits well with the site, the colors are nicely chosen and picked up across the site along with the general style.
The font is clear and the overall effect is a nice clean logo with it's own personality!

I understand what you are saying:
- colors are repeated within the site (yellow titles, gradients in the background)
- font is clear and not "overdone"

So I would add gradients to the bomb too too avoid that over-cartoony-look. Might look "alienated" at the first moment (as it looks different to now) but should be more consistent at the end.

I think it has it's own charm but it's worth exploring a more "ordered" look. I'm also open to a completely new logo design but the moto "They mostly code at night... Mostly" will stay as I like it and I'm da boss :P
Until the next time...
