I recently purchased AGK from steam and am very happy with it.  I was wondering if it was possible to burn it to dvd so I've got a copy on disc if I ever need it. Thanks.

No suggestions yet later I will try copying the folder containing the AGK files from my c drive and see if that'll work. We'll see I suppose. If it doesn't it's only a disc. If anybody knows how to do this if I fail please let me know. I'm not going to pirate the software and I have paid for it. Just want a copy for my own personal use.

Dunno. I didn't get the Steam version, but the regular download is just a zip file, which unzipped has an installer, which probably makes registry changes somewhere.

Your version probably does the same. I suppose the people from AGK know much more about this, better ask them?

I don't see a problem in that, because I can login and re-download at anytime.

Backing up is simply good practice.

I don't think that just burning the AGK folder to a DVD would give you a working portable version. Could be wrong, try it and let us know :)

Until the next time.

If that doesn't make it portable, you'd need something like VMWare's ThinApp to make it portable.

Yes I know I can download it and reinstall it whenever I want from steam having made my purchase but what if I had no access to the internet for some reason or steam goes belly up for some reason.

Couldn't find a start exercising file in the steam version as a place to start from so I guess it's a no go.

Hmm, that kinda sucks.

Dunno if exists or even possible on PC's, but shouldn't there be applications out there that can monitor and save to a log file exactly *all* that gets installed / changed on a system?

That would help a great deal in matters as these.

The TGC version of AGK is portable for sure. I doubt the Steam version is.

Pfaber11

Well I managed to copy it to dvd and it works. Not sure if it would work without steam being on the computer. Will test this when I get the opportunity. Thanks for all the replies.
