Qasardio audio editor
« on: October 09, 2017, 08:29:54 AM »
After much tinkering it's more or less finished with saving of wavs now enabled.

https://adamstrange.itch.io/qasardio

So what does it do?

it allows you to open up to 32 sound files in 8/16/24 bit wav, ogg, aif

plus

fairlight CMI .vc, .vcd

Amiga 1/16 bit svc8, sv16

emu emulator 1,2

emu max 2,3

sound fonts

akai

load .s50, .out

korg and yamaha sound formats

You can then edit, trim, change volume, reverse and generally mangle the files and resave them as wavs

Let me know how you get on with it, any crashes, issues, suggestions, etc

Here's a peek of the 'create' page I'm working on:

I'm just working on some shaping tools for volume and pitch, then it will be released

Thanks Ron,
Still a bit more work to be done, but the waveform generation is now complete and works very well giving very usable sounds.

The main thing I'm pleased about is the speed. it's all instant! waveform generation, sound generation. Just play with a fader and the UI and sound responds like magic.

The 3d display give a nice feeling for how it all sounds too!

Ooo! looks nice. :)

Just wish there was a Linux version.
Last I checked you had a Linux download, but it gave me something for Mac?

While I was working on the final bits for the fx section (drawing of volume and pitch) I thought about adding direct drawing to the waveform creation as well. So... Here's the result:

You can also see that fader will automatically enable/disable depending on what can be done

Because the resulting waveform is properly smoothed (seen in the display) you always get 'something' usable and instant feedback both visually and audibly.

Still not finished the fx section. the drawing is in but not the code behind it

Looking good. So it is a sound modification tool which can export to WAV files?

yep. export 8,16 bit mono and stereo wav files
import wav, aif, ogg, plus library load of akai, roland, Korg, Yamaha, Fairlight, PPG and more

Plus new sound creation functions as shown above (once finished) ;)

That's awesome. Perhaps if you're ready to get more feedback and exposure, you could share it on game community sites or tools page like this one here.

Keep it up!

This looks super cool.  I downloaded it from itch.io  I'm going to use this the next time I edit some game sounds.  It looks like it would be great for mixing stuff.  That's what I like to do with sounds.  I have a bunch of purchased and free sound assets, and I'll combine three or four them to get the sound I want.  This looks like it will be ideal for that.  I'd see if you can get this on Steam in the Software section if I were you :)

ok, first version with the new create page is now ready for you

@IanMartin Currently there is no 'mixing' of sounds together, but I do have something up my sleeve for that at a later date.
