Yeah not sure why he pulled the plug, BlitzMax is probably one of the best programming languages I've ever used in my life

Whilst BlitzMax was good, it couldn't hold a candle to Blitz3D for moi ;)

BlitzMax is probably my absolute favourite language ever due the the module support.
Hell, I used BlitzMax to make tools for GBA Doom II rom hacking!
And for Blitz3D stuff, I just use MiniB3D, although some commands are stubs so I'm trying to reimplement them and upload a fork sometime

I think while BlitzMax is clearly a more powerful language, Blitz3d still does many things that aren't possible with a 3d engine in BlitzMax.

For example, it has really great model loaders, you can load animated 3DS and X, you can create vertex interpolated animations, it's really well written code. Forgetting about shaders no 3d engine for BlitzMax is as good all-round as Blitz3d. Then there's all the libraries, the many physics engines, Fastlibs, network, etc. many of these things still have no equivalent in BlitzMax engines.

I would be using it if I didn't like the idea of cross-platform so much.

Glad to see that the Blitz community is still alive after the apocalypse ^^ I still use Blitz3D for prototyping things, very handy tool, but today I mainly use Blitzmax. After the blitzbasic site went down I re-re-re-re-tried Unity, but I just can't, I wish I could but it's like starting from zero again so I'll probably stick with Blitzmax, and hopefully OpenB3D.
Everyone knew it was impossible, until someone who didn't know made it.

Forgive my ignorance,

I generally don't hang around the Blitz related forums that much ( until more recently ), and I don't use BRL products to make games, although I do use BlitzMax quite a lot. I was under the impression that this kind of stuff was taken of for BlitzMax by 3rd parties libraries already? Or are you referring to BRL stamped libraries.

I haven't coded anything in months (and i don't plan to...), but i still have my old codes/meshes/textures and some libraries...

So if you need some help with Blitz3d and i have a code example or something which can help (and if i see your message), i will try to post something.

Great RemiD you have joined syntaxbomb. 

You have helped me a lot on my blitz3d related problems. When the Mark closed the blitz website , I have stopped using blitz3d and started using blitzmax to make some 2d games first, but I will again use blitz3d to make a fps game which is my dream.
