Track has shifted west a bit, greatly reducing the chance for hurricane force winds where I live.  Biggest worries now are tornadoes and flooding.  Still could get 90+mph gusts, so not completely out of the water for wind damage.

Bad news is that it brings the worst part of the storm through the west coast counties (including Charlotte :( ) . Tampa will be seeing the worst conditions for 100 years.

I'm more worried about the storm surge than the wind.

I would like to do a little programming, but afraid the power will go out once I get going.

I believe it originated as a joke, but seems some are taking it seriously.

Amazingly, I still have power, even though most of the city is out.  Whole apartment is shaking.  The hurricane is not veering west as soon as they originally predicted putting the eye extremely close to me.  I've been through 3 hurricanes and several near misses and I don't think I've ever been so nervous.  I sure hope ThickO fared ok. As bad as I'm getting it here, Charlotte has gotten it much worse.  :(

The worst is just approaching.  Just need to survive the next hour.  Amazingly still have power.  Unit across the way is out.

Huge tree got knocked down, fortunately missed the apartment buildings.  Amazingly still have power.  porch fence gone.  Neighbor's porch fence is gone.  Don't see the bike he had chained to it. Sustained winds are at 100mph, that's cat 2.  Charlie was already degraded to a cat 1 by the time it reached us.

The storm has peaked for me.  It should gradually get better from here on out.  Will still be dangerous for about 4-5 hours, so not completely out of the woods, but I can relax a little bit.  21,000 people in my area without power, yet I still have some :)

Wow TomToad! A running commentary from the heart of the action!
Hang in there, I hope everything ends up OK for you and everyone.

It's gone quiet from you so maybe and hopefully just the power has gone off  :o
