Hiya everyone.

This is my entry into the July 2017 'code a game' competition.
Its a Windows build, requires DirectX 11 and can be downloaded from https://github.com/davecamp/StarRoids

Controls are:-
LEFT and RIGHT to rotate
UP to thrust forward
SPACE to shoot
DOWN to drop a bomb

Q and W change the music volume up and down
ESCAPE quits the game

Have fun  8)

@col, a fun game, yeah I toyed with inserting some hi-score logic, but nah - I've one last thing I might try and incorporate before the deadline though..... theres a WHOLE 5 hours left to go GMT wise after all ;)

Very good job here col.  Quite authentic, but with some nice improvements over the original.   8)

Where did you get the sound from?

btw I vote for col's StarRoids because of the gameplay and improved vector graphics over the original.

Oh wow!
Thank you to both of you.

@Steve Elliott
I made the background 'music/tune' myself and used the sound effects available from
http://samples.mameworld.info/ or
http://samples.mameworld.info/Unofficial%20Samples.htm.

I believe they are taken from the original arcade and remastered by a person who goes by the name of Gyrovision.

I know I'm not so good at generating art/graphics so art/graphics is very time consuming for me to produce. I thought the best thing to do would be to pay homage to the original graphics style but put into a subtle 3d style and work harder on the gameplay to make it fun to play.

Thank you for the vote! That's awesome  8)
